Photo series for Shinsen Omakase, a speak-easy sushi & bar in Chinatown NYC.
Can you identify where the light sources are coming from? Multiple shadows, layered highlights, and a depth of field that can’t be replicated with fixed lights. How magical and amazing is that!
Long before digital photography entered the commercial world, some of the greatest photographers used this same technique for brands like Rolex. With the shutter held open, the artist applied light one second at a time. Through this process, you can create ideally lit, striking images with rich depth, shadows, and highlights—crafted entirely by hand.
